THRIVE is your program. You show up, you talk about what's real, and you use us as a resource. No lectures. No punishments. No adults acting like they've got you all figured out.
A trained mentor — a certified Community Health Worker (CHW) — checks in with you every week. Sometimes as a group. Sometimes just you.
That's it. That's the whole thing. Five to ten minutes. They ask how your week's going, what's working, what's not. You share what you want to share. They listen. They follow up.
An adult outside your family who knows you and shows up every week. That's rare. Use it.
A missed week of class or a grade slipping — we catch it before it snowballs into losing eligibility or falling behind.
Need a tutor? Stressed about home stuff? Need to talk to someone bigger than a mentor? We connect you, no announcement, no fuss.
You can say the thing you can't say at home or in front of friends. Sometimes just naming it out loud helps.
Not everything. What you share with your mentor mostly stays with your mentor. They're not calling home about every conversation.
The exception: if what you share means you or someone else might be in danger, they have to tell someone. That's real, and they'll tell you if it's happening. No secret reports.
No. Some weeks you'll want to. Some weeks you'll just want to say "I'm good" and move on. Both are fine.
The point isn't to force big conversations. It's that when you do have something to say, there's already someone there who knows you.
Tell us. Seriously. We'd rather know than have you fake it. If it's a real mismatch, we'll figure something out.
Your mentor can help connect you. That's a huge part of what they do. They know who to call, how to make it happen, and how to loop in your family without making it weird.
If you need to talk to someone right now, you can text or call 988 anytime for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Free, confidential, 24/7.
No. THRIVE stuff doesn't go on your transcript, doesn't affect your grades, doesn't get reported to colleges. It's separate from all of that.
Talk to your parent or guardian and your school counselor. THRIVE works best when you're in, but nobody's going to force you.
