As part of our partnership with Salem-Keizer Public Schools, student education records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We access, use, and share student information only with authorized school staff and THRIVE team members who have a legitimate educational interest. We do not share student information with third parties outside the school without parent consent, except as required by law.

If a mentor becomes aware that a student is in danger of harm to themselves or others, or that a student has been subjected to abuse or neglect, we are required to share that information with the student's family, school staff, and appropriate authorities. The student will be told when a safety escalation is happening.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access controls, and secure data storage. No system is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted to or stored on our systems.
Project THRIVE serves students, including those under 13. We collect information from minors only with the consent of a parent or guardian, except where a minor is legally permitted to self-consent (such as high school students 14 and up for mentoring services under Oregon law). We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and related state laws governing student data.
